When using Windows, I always feel like missing a great file manager like konqueror or dolphin... so I looked around for a while in order to have the same flexibility also in this environment.
As a nice mix of speed (fine) and flexibility (very high), I strongly recommend using nomad.net.
It brings on windows most of the things that I miss from konqueror... like tabbed browsing, a nice interface for copying/moving files, remembering the session, and some less used but very nice feature such as its support for creating NTFS hard links...
it is not as fast as explorer itself, but has many more features so it's really a good choice!
