Epson EcoTank 2650 - printing on OpenSuse
I am making use of an Epson EcoTank 2650 printer. It seems like it is quite difficult to setup such a printer on Linux. I managed, so I am reporting here how I did on openSUSE Tumbleweed, version 20201119, using KDE.
I did this by having discovered in advance the IP address of my printer, actually I prefer setting it up statically in my router.
I first installed this package: http://rpmfind.net/linux/RPM/opensuse/tumbleweed/x86_64/epson-inkjet-printer-escpr-1.7.7-1.4.x86_64.html (some time ago, this could be found even on Epson web site, now it seems like it has been removed).
Then, I opened "Yast2 printer", either from the menu or from command line (sudo /usr/sbin/yast2 printer).
I went for "add", "setup wizard", then chose "TCP Port (AppSocket/JetDirect)", typed the IP address of the printer, left the default port (9100), and then pressed "ok".
In the "driver" section, please search for 2650, search and choose the right printer.
By pressing "ok", you have the setup wizard complete its work, and from now on you have your printer available and working.
I hope this helps someone else!
